The budget is often best served when spent on more RAM, cores, NIC and HD (if internal storage.) A shiny case is a waste in the server room where no one will see it. "Cool looking" is usually a secondary concern, if at all, when buying ESX hardware. Otherwise, you'll want to check the Hardware Compatibility Guide for other ESX supported systems, but those are mostly rackmount and other towers designed to be out of sight in the back room. If you "must have Apple hardware", then you can run ESX as a virtual machine inside of Fusion or Workstation. So in general, ESX won't install directly on Apple hardware without some hacking. Or any other cool & sophisticated hardware where ESX4 can be installed.?Īll Apple systems are proprietary and not "standard PC". Could you please let me know if there is any other apple server where ESX4 vSphere can be installed ?
